Debt Counselor Job Qualifications and Experience - Buffalo, New York

To qualify as a Debt Counselor for ConServe, you should hold a high school diploma or GED, at minimum, with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree being preferred. Your experience should encompass six months or more of direct phone or in-person customer interaction experience within any of the following environments: Collections, Sales, Telemarketing, Medical Billing, Call Center, Customer Service, Banking, Reception, Criminal Justice, Office Support, Wait Staff, Accounting, Finance, Teaching, Retail or Retail Management.
You must possess strong verbal communication skills with an ability to listen, persuade, negotiate and obtain resolution. Your intermediate computer proficiency and multitasking skills will enable you to navigate computer software packages and databases while on the phone and function well in a fast-paced environment.  It is important to note that you must be able to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance.*
